For the collection and identification of bulk samples from domestic and commercial premises within strategic points from the building

Undertaking in excess of 16000 inspections per annum and working to a three day‐turnaround, irrespective of whether we working in Inverness or Penzance, we have identified  a more efficient way of managing and transmitting this data back to our operational centre in Basildon.

We decided to use a digital pen scanning solution.

A digital pen writes just like a normal pen but includes an infra‐red camera, a processor, 1.3mb of memory and a battery. When in use the camera takes 100 pictures per second of the pen strokes and stores them in the memory.

At the end of the inspection process our inspector ticks a box on a specially prepared template form and this automatically transmit the pen stroke data to a mobile phone.

The camera on the mobile phone is also used to take photographs of the inspected site and data from the pen along with the photographs uploaded via the solution provider, to our operational centre for processing and posting to the Aspect Intranet Website with 15 minutes of the conclusion to the inspection.
