In October, Aspect’s Ron Heyfron flew to the Brazilian rainforest to take part in an annual fund-raising event arranged by the Bobby Moore Fund. Over 40 sponsored participants along with Stephanie Moore worked tirelessly to extend and refurbish the dilapidated Lages School, an essential facility for the local community and its children. They also built a wonderful playground and, of course, a football pitch in memory of Bobby and this was celebrated with an inaugural England vs. Brazil fixture. Conditions were tough as temperatures reached 40 centigrade and the drought that had almost brought the village to its knees persisted, relenting only on the very last day just as Stephanie finished planting the last of 17 trees. However, the group succeeded in raising a staggering £150,000 for Cancer Research while also making the first moves in establishing a charitable foundation to provide long-term support to the community.  Congratulations to everyone who took part and if you want to contribute to the fund-raising you still can at:
